I sat watching TV, bored out of my mind and lonely on a Friday night. Rin had asked me if I was joining him, but I didn't want to see him flirt all night when he had the perfect girl waiting for him at her apartment. It was currently 7:15. My phone lit up, and I knew immediately that Rin had, in fact, ditched his girlfriend.
"Hello?" I knew what was coming, but I still pretended I had no idea what the idiot had done.
"H-hey, Sou?"
"What's wrong, Y/n?"
"Is Rin with you?" I could hear how broken she was, which made my heart clench. She still put on a brave face, trying to keep her voice level and calm.
"I'm sitting at home, watching TV. I don't know where Rin is." It wasn't entirely a lie; he was out, but where out was, I didn't know.
"Oh."
"I thought you two were going to dinner?" I asked, muting the TV.
"He hasn't shown up and isn't answering my calls or texts."
"How many times have you tried him?"
"Two calls and three texts." That's less than last time; maybe she's getting fed up with him. "Sou?"
"Yea?"
"Why am I not good enough?"
"I'll see you in a few, okay? I'm walking out the door now." I stood up and put on my shoes, not waiting for her reply.
"Sou, you don't have to-."
"I'm on my way." I hung up the phone, not letting her protest.
Y/n. We met in physical therapy a couple of years ago, and then I introduced her to Rin. I didn't think I had anything to offer her, so I practically pushed her into his arms. They've been together about eighteen months now, and all I've done over the last six months is watch him walk all over her. Rin might be my best friend, but the woman deserved better. At first, everything seemed fine, and they were great together, but then, I think he got bored. He stopped taking her out and started talking about her like she meant nothing to him. I told him to break up with her, but he said, 'It's nice to feel wanted.' I didn't think anything of it then, but I get it now- he wanted a backup.
She was beautiful, her h/c hair that she usually wore up, but I loved how it framed her face when it was down. Her e/c shimmered brightly when she was happy and excited, her smile making them even more beautiful. Her smile made the sun seem dull with how much light it brought to my life. Body, I could get lost in exploring it, the curves and dips that I've only been privy to in a swimsuit a few times.
She felt inadequate, and she was far from it. She always doted on Rin and catered to his every need as well. His needs always came first, always. She turned down a job moving out of Tokyo for him, afraid a long-distance relationship would be too complicated for them. She had no family here; her parents were deceased, and her brother lived a few hours away. I became attached, wanting to protect her. Then, I realized it was more than that.
I had fallen in love with how she covered her mouth when she giggled lightly. There are barely any creases near her eyes when she gives me a closed-eye smile. She has a nervous habit of cracking her fingers' knuckles when uncomfortable. She chews the skin of her lip off when she's people-watching. When I've seen her fall asleep on her couch, or Rin's, she pulls the covers up to hide part of her face, as if it will keep the world out.
*knock knock*
"Sousuke." She looked relieved, and my heart pumped faster in my chest. I wanted nothing more than to hold her, but I had to hear her say it. "You didn't have to come over."
"I wasn't doing anything." I stepped past her and headed for her living room. "Besides, why should you waste that outfit on being home alone?"
She was dressed in a little black dress, with silver and diamonds on her neck and ears—even her tennis bracelet, which Rin had bought her for their anniversary. Her heels were beside the door, along with her small wristlet, which she tended to carry when going out. She looked alluring, sexy, and beautiful all at once.
"I bought it earlier this week, and I was hoping—oh, never mind." She sighed, took off her jewelry, and tossed it on the coffee table.
Rin had a habit of buying her fancy things, his way of apologizing. She said she appreciated them, but she preferred affection over attention. "Do you want to go out?" I asked, looking up at her. She was standing between the couch and the coffee table, about to sit next to me.
"Not really. Rin said we were going to dinner and meeting Haru, Asahi and Kisumi. I guess Haru started dating someone, and he wanted Rin to meet her."
"He told me yesterday, Haruka, not Rin," I explained as she plopped down. As she did, the skirt flared, and I caught a glimpse of red fabric beneath it.
"Maybe I'll just change, and we can watch a movie." She sat board straight suddenly, "Only if you want to!" She practically shouted, "I mean, you came all the way here and-"
"I wanted to make sure you were alright. This is the third or fourth time he's done this." That's a lie; it's the tenth.
"Tenth." Ah, she kept track, too. "It's the tenth time he's done this in the last six months." She looked at her knees, her fingers laced, and sat on her thighs in the bundle of fabric bunched there. "Everything changed when I told him I turned down that job."
I literally sat on my hands, simply so I wouldn't hold her—okay, so I wouldn't kiss her, but that's not the point.
"Daisy," her sniffle made me halt my words. Daisy was my nickname that I only used when we were alone, and even she didn't know why I used it.
"What did I do wrong?"
"Nothing." I took my hand from under my leg and put it on her hands, her tears hitting my skin. "You did absolutely nothing wrong."
"I'm tired of it, Sousuke. I'm tired of feeling like this. I'm tired of him treating me like one of his trophies." She looked at me, and a look of determination sat on her face. "He can't decide when he wants to put me on display and when he wants to hide me on some shelf."
I couldn't help but chuckle at her analogy; it was fitting, really. "You deserve so much more than this." My words had her blinking her tears away as she wiped her cheeks. "Rin has been my friend for a long time, but I consider you my friend as well. And, with that, I have this to say: this isn't what love is, Daisy."
"Why do you call me that?" Her voice sounded small and childlike as if she were astounded by words.
"Daisy?"
"Yes." She admitted.
"Well," I looked away, unsure if I should say the words that would explain the pet name. Daisies remind me of the sun," I started before looking back at her. You remind me of the sun, bringing light into my life and a promise of tomorrow, a new start to a new day."
"Sousuke." She whispered.
"I may not know how love truly works. I've only had two major girlfriends, and both were disasters, but I know what love ain't, and this ain't it."
"I don't know how to break up with him." She admitted. "He's been my rock for so long."
"What if- what if you found a new one?" What was I saying? Rin is my friend. I shouldn't be doing this! She became a stuttering mess, unsure of what words to use. She stood up quickly, making me worry. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean-"
"Maybe you should go." Shit!
"Daisy, wait, I didn't mean to upset you, it's just, I-"
"Sou, don't say something you don't mean or that you'll regret. Our friendship means too much to me."
She went to walk away, so I stood up and reached for her, turning her around to face me. I pulled her body flush with mine and did the only thing I could think of: I kissed her. Those perfect lips melted against mine, and I felt her tense, then sigh and relax. Our tongues mingled, and I could taste the saltiness of her tears as they did. I released her; only so my hands could caress her body, memorizing those curves, I longed to touch.
"I can't." She stepped back suddenly, breaking the kiss and my heart.
"Dammit, this isn't what I wanted to happen." I groaned as I ran a hand through my hair.
"I told you not to do anything you'd regret." She backed away even further. "You should leave."
"That's not what I mean. I'm not going to betray my friendship, but I can't sit here and watch as the woman I love gets her heart broken by some idiot!"
She was dumbstruck. Her eyes shimmered again as tears welled, and I felt the slap before I even registered what she was doing. Her phone buzzed, and Rin's face popped up on the screen.
"You should leave." She repeated. She picked up her phone and answered it as she sat down, putting it on speaker and sitting it in her lap.
"Babe, you okay?" Rin actually sounded concerned.
"Yeah, why?"
"I thought I told you to meet me at the bar."
"No, you said you would pick me up for dinner, just you and me, and then we'd go to the bar." She snapped.
"We had dinner last night."
"We can't have dinner more than once a week together?" I've never seen her talk to him this way.
She cut her eyes to me. I was still standing and didn't know what to do with myself. "What's up with you?"
"Do you still love me?" Her voice shook, but she didn't cry.
"What?" I stayed quiet, not wanting to cause more problems.
"Let me rephrase: are you still in love with me?"
"Ever since you had lunch with Sousuke last week, you've been distant." Rin paused, and I saw her shrink in on herself. "Did something happen?"
Did something happen? I thought back to lunch. Gou and Rin met up with us at the mall after they had gone to see their mother. It wasn't a big deal. We were at the mall for about forty-five minutes before they got there. We ate and walked past a few stores and window shopping.
"This has nothing to do with Sousuke." She snapped. It hit me the moment that made her honestly question Rin.
"You want to stop and look?" I noticed her gaze linger on the engagement rings. It hurt to see her looking at them; the future she wanted was sitting right there, and I wasn't the man she wanted, though my heart longed for me to be him.
"No, why get my hopes up." She wasn't asking.
"You never know. Rin is full of surprises." Yea... surprises.
"Have you ever loved someone?" I went to answer, but she kept going, "Someone you couldn't have." She finished. She sounded so depressed her mood suddenly changed.
"What do you mean?"
"I met someone once, and I immediately felt light and airy. Free and unbound by anything. But," she looked back to the rings, longing in her eyes, "I guess he didn't feel the same." Who was she talking about?
"And Rin?" I asked.
"I've come to love him, but is that really enough?" She walked away from me as though she had told me the time and we needed to get going. I was stunned.
Wait, was she talking about me? There's no way, she couldn't possibly. Rin's voice had me looking back at her. She looked so fragile and broken, unsure of her choices in life.
"Then what is it?" Rin barked.
"Are you cheating on me? Is that why you're never with me?"
"What? How could you-"
"I saw the text from Mina last week, so something is going on." She accused.
"Let me in."
"What?" She asked as she whipped her head to me.
"I'm here. Let me in." He sounded bitter and angry. The phone went quiet, indicating he hung up.
"Sou-" her words were cut off by Rin knocking. She sighed and headed for the door. This was bad, really bad.
"What took you so long, and why are you crying? I know I told you- Sousuke?" Rin pushed past her and stormed to where I was standing. "Do you want to explain to me what's going on?" I could smell the alcohol on his breath.
Y/n moved between us, black streaks from her mascara and eyeliner down her cheeks. "Who's Mina?" She asked fists balled beside her tense body.
I looked over her and down at Rin. I knew who Mina was, and I had kept his secret for two months now. For two months, he's been cheating on her. Before, he flirted and collected phone numbers like it was a game.
"Why is Sousuke here?" Rin asked, his eyes cutting up to me and back to the h/c.
"I called him, that's why." She was growing increasingly upset, her anger mixing with her suspicion.
"Why would you call him?"
"You're already drunk?" She glanced behind her at her clock, "It's just after eight."
"You're avoiding the question."
"Because you didn't answer my calls or texts. Now, I'm going to assume you're here, attempting to get me to go out because whatever Mina is to you canceled on you." Rin flinched at her words. "Who is she?!" She shouted this time.
"No one." Rin tried to shrug it off.
"Bullshit." She spat before spinning to face me. "If he was willing to take her to meet Haru, then you've met her already." My face fell, and then hers did, too. She felt betrayed, not by Rin, but by me. "You knew." She whispered. "No wonder everyone's been avoiding me." She looked at the floor now. "That's why Gou acted so strange last week at the mall."
"Dai- Y/n, I think you and Rin need to talk this out."
Her head snapped up to me, and I could see the heartbreak in her dull eyes. "Did you ever love me?" She looked at me for a moment longer before turning around. I felt the question was posed to us both. "Did you?"
The look in Rin's eyes said it all, and I was trying to prepare myself for the onslaught that was coming.
"No." He answered and moved forward, reaching for her, but she stepped back and ran into me before falling to her hands and knees. Rin fell to his knees before her and tried to make her look at him, but she fought him tooth and nail. "Look at me!" He shouted, "Dammit, look at me!"
"Just go!" She yelled, pushing him away.
"Wh-" she cut him off.
"We're over, Rin, so just go. I'm not doing this anymore. I'm not going to feel like I'm not good enough for you; nothing's ever good enough for you."
"That's because you're not."
"Rin!" I raged.
"Fuck you!" She bolted upright, making him stumble back as he stood. "Get the fuck out, now. I'll pack your things and drop them at Haru's tomorrow."
"I'll leave when you tell me why he's here." She held his intimidating gaze as he pressed the issue. "Are you fucking him?"
Rin and I were rivals and best friends in other ways. We've had our fights, and we've had our issues, but the way he was talking to her, the way he was treating her, I didn't know if we'd come back from this.
She laughed dryly, making her sound mad as a hatter, "We've never even kissed, you idiot."
"Then why is he here?" He urged again.
With a cold heart and a venom-coated tongue, she answered him, "Because, unlike you, I thought maybe he loved me." She walked around him and opened the door. "Out. Both of you."
Rin didn't utter a word as he walked out of her apartment and out of her life, it seemed. I couldn't find words to say. Rin had just cut out her heart and stomped on it, but I felt as though I was the one with his heart missing. When I stepped out into the hallway, I turned back, and I was met with the most soul-crushing expression I've ever seen.
"I never want to see you again." With a finality I didn't think she could, she closed the door slowly, as if her anger had receded and been replaced with a calm sense of relief and closure.
I walked away and out of her life. My walk home was a blur, Rin nowhere in sight as I did. He didn't text or call, and I wasn't sure if I should reach out to him. What would tomorrow hold? Or the next day? Or even next week? Next month? I had always held onto this strange hope that she would end up in my arms somehow, but I was a fool. I worried I had nothing to offer her, but neither did Rin; he only gave her heartache and sorrow.
I may not know what love is, but I know what love ain't... and this, this ain't it.

"Will you be my Maid of Honor?" Gou asked me with the biggest smile the woman could possibly have.
"Gou..."
"Momo's brother is the best man, not Rin." That wasn't even the issue. Okay, it was part of it.
"That's not it."
"I know it's not all of it, but you won't talk to me about anything." She sighed and dropped down onto my couch in a huff. "You changed your number and only gave it to me, Haru, and Makoto. Seijiro said he bumped into you a month ago and almost had to beg you for it. You two were close before all of this."
"He's close with Sousuke and Rin, I didn't-"
"You moved, and Haru and I are the only ones you've let over here." She turned to me with a scowl. "And!" she shouted. "Momo and Seiji said they saw you out with Natsuya."
"So?"
"Is something going on with you two?" She pressed.
"No, just friends." I looked away, "With benefits."
"What?!"
"Doesn't matter, I ended it two weeks ago."
"I thought you said nothing was going on?" She asked.
"He wanted a relationship, I didn't." I shrugged.
"Y/n, what happened between you and Sou?"
I looked away from her and towards the photo album, which I refused to look at. I was the outsider welcomed with open arms into their group, and it was so heartwarming at the time. Now, I cut all ties with them as much as I could. Gou and I had found a friendship even though her brother had cheated on me; in truth, he wasn't the issue at all.
"I've been in love with him the moment I laid eyes on him."
Gou gasped at my confession. "And you never said anything?"
"He seemed like he only wanted a friend. He and Rin are similar in some ways, one of which is that swimming comes first. Sou was focused on rehab, and that was it at the time. We started talking, and he mentioned he had a friend he thought I might like, you know, the rest."
"What happened that night?" Gou pressed. "Rin and Sousuke stopped talking for a while."
"I called Sou because Rin ditched me again. It wasn't the first time I called him upset or the first time he came over because of it. At first, it wasn't a big deal; he was being Sou and reassuring me that I was not a bad girlfriend. He felt bad. Rin and him are so close," I sat back and closed my eyes as I rested my head on the couch, "Then I asked him why he gave me a nickname-"
"A nickname?" I hummed. "What nickname?" Gou asked.
"Daisy." I smiled lightly. "Because daisies remind him of the sun, and I reminded him of the sun. Bright and a promise of tomorrow, a new beginning."
Gou gushed, "That's so romantic. And unlike Sousuke." She added the end in a huff.
"I wanted him to go, worried he would do or say something he didn't mean, simply trying to be a friend to me. I didn't want to do anything I'd regret either." I opened my eyes and looked at Gou, sitting back up, "I stood up, trying to move away from him, but he pulled me to him and he- he kissed me."
"He what?!"
"When I told him I couldn't and that he should leave, he told me, 'I can't just watch as the woman I love gets her heart broken by some idiot. 'Then, your brother called." She just blinked. I sighed and added, "I don't know if Sou told Rin. I have no idea what happened after they left. I haven't talked to either one of them."
"Wow... I don't know what to say."
"There's nothing to say." I stood up, "I'll do it, Gou, but I'm only doing what's absolutely necessary of me."
"Well..." I wouldn't say I liked the sound of this. "The engagement party is tonight."
"Nope."
"But-"
"No buts. You can't just drop this on me." I walked into the kitchen, her hot on my heels. "I don't even have anything to wear."
"I bought you a dress." She yelped when I spun around to glare at her. "It's in the car."
I groaned. "Gou." I held the bridge of my nose and took a deep breath.
"Sejiuro said he'd pick you up at 6:30."
"What?" I dropped my hand and looked at her.
"He said he didn't mind taking you as his date-"
"Dammit, Gou!"
"It makes sense, okay. You two know each other well enough. It's not like you have to kiss or anything."
I pointed out, "I'm being set up, and I don't appreciate it."
"But I want you there, please, by my side. I know you and Rin didn't work out, but I still feel like you're my sister. I love you, Y/n."
Damn woman. "And I love you, which is why I'm doing this. I'll go, but I'm leaving when I want."
"Yes!" She cheered. "I'll send Sejiuro your address."
"Go ahead and send him my number if he gets lost."
"Have you and Sejiuro-"
"No." I cut her off. "I'm assuming Sousuke is going to be there."
"He's in the wedding too." I sighed. "And Ai."
"Fantastic. That means all of Iwatobi will be there, too." Sometimes, it was easier to describe the groups just using team names.
"Well, yeah." She hugged me. "But it's an open bar, " she grinned at me.
"One bonus," I smirked. "And I have a hot date." I hip-checked her, and she let go of me. She laughed.
"Maybe we could still be sisters!" She beamed.
"Nice try." She pouted at my words, and I couldn't help but laugh. "Get going. I'm sure you need to get ready."
"Let me go get your dress!" She was so damn excited, and this is why I had a hard time telling her no. She returned with a black garment bag so I couldn't see the dress yet. "See you at seven!" She waved and bounced out my front door, happier than when she walked in.
k
I sighed and entered my bedroom, hanging the dress on my closet door before unzipping it. "Gou." I gritted. It was a little pink number, something I would never own or wear, but for her, I would. It came with strappy heels that matched perfectly. Well, let's get this over with, I guess.
After applying light makeup and getting my hair done, I slipped the dress on but couldn't zip it myself. I grumbled the entire way to the front door, thankful he arrived on time but annoyed I'd be asking him to zip this dress. I held the dress to my chest and opened the door with a smile on my face. Sejiuro Mikoshiba, that sexy man with his perfect smile, greeted me a moment later with a dumbfounded expression.
"I- you- wow." He finally breathed.
"Can you help me?"
"With?" He arched a brow.
I stepped back, and he came in, letting me shut the door. "I can't zip it." I turned around and heard the gulp as he saw the top of the lace thong and no bra.
"Do I have to be a gentleman right away?" He asked, and I could hear the smirk on his face.
"I don't think the best man and maid of honor can be late to the engagement party." I smiled over my shoulder, and he chuckled. "Maybe afterward, you can throw out the gentleman's card." He initially turned crimson at my flirtatious comment but quickly found his voice again.
"Gou said we could leave as soon as you're ready, so just let me know when you want to go." He let one hand rest on my hip as he zipped up the dress.
"We don't have to go at all," I said as I turned to face him.
"I kind of agree. Spending an evening alone with you seems more enjoyable to me, but my brother would have my ass." I laughed at his response and grabbed my clutch.
"Then let's get this over with."
As he drove, I could see that Sejiuro was uncomfortable, probably unsure of what to do or how to act. I let him fumble around for about ten minutes before I finally spoke up.
"Rin cheated on me, but-"
"You don't have to explain anything." He offered.
"That's sweet of you, but you deserve to know what you're getting into." He nodded but stayed focused on the road, "Sousuke admitted he was in love with me the night I broke it off with Rin. The two have nothing to do with one another, though. I don't know if Rin knows or not."
"And how do you feel?" He cut his eyes over, "About Sousuke?"
"I don't know anymore," I admitted as I looked out the window. "We can go in as friends or a couple, whatever you want."
"Seems like you're still in love with him." He pointed out.
"I was never in love with Rin, which is cruel."
"I meant Sousuke."
I snorted, "Whatever."
"Let's just see how the night goes."
I didn't answer as I watched the buildings pass. My life was nothing like I expected it to be at that point. I sighed and laid my head back, closing my eyes as I did. I felt the car turn, and then he parked, signaling we arrived at our destination.
"Hey," he called softly, making me look at him again, "you look beautiful, and we can leave as soon as you want. I'll even be a gentleman and just drop you off at home."
"You're too sweet, Sej."
He brushed a hand over my shoulder and momentarily twirled a strand of hair as he said, "That's an easy image to shatter." Heat rushed to my cheeks as he exited the car with a chuckle.
"Jerk." I stuck my tongue out at him as I stood up after he opened my door.
With his hand on my back, he gave me a small push towards the door, and I froze.
"Hey, you'll be fine; I'm right here."
It was sweet, really, but it didn't matter. Inside that building were Rin and Mina, and that's right, they were still together. Sousuke, was he still single? Or would he have someone draped over his arm?
"Thanks." I smiled and walked with a little more confidence. Sejiuro still held my back as he opened the door and guided me in.
All eyes landed on us the second the doors closed behind us. I scanned the room, catching the stares and murmurs until I couldn't avoid that particular set of blue. They were as breathtaking as the first time I saw them. I let my eyes linger on his features a little longer than I should before turning away with a bored expression.
"There you are!" Gou shouted as she wrapped me in a hug. "The dress looks great, " she commented as she pulled away.
"You could've mentioned it was pink. And that I'd need help getting in it." I deadpanned.
"I'm sure Sejiuro didn't mind." She winked, making me roll my eyes.
"I was surprised, to say the least," Sejiuro commented.
"I almost thought you weren't coming," Momo commented as he put his arm around Gou.
"I can't say no to her." I jerked my head in Gou's direction, and we all laughed.
"Hey, sis, I- Y/n?" Rin paused when he saw me, a brunette walking next to him. "I didn't think-"
"How could I miss this?" I gave a big grin, "Momo finally grew a pair and proposed." Some of the tension seemed to ease, but not all of it.
"You're Y/n?" The woman, I assumed, was Mina asked.
"Yes, it's nice to meet you. Mina, yes?" I extended my hand to her, and she looked at it, then Rin, and then back at me.
I was pulled into a hug and went stiff, "I'm so glad you came; Gou was so worried you'd say no." She held me at arm's length now, "and Rin, he didn't know if he should-"
"I'm fine, it's fine." I cut her off before she started spouting everyone's inner fears. I could already tell she was the perfect girl for Rin. "You two are good for each other." I smiled as I looked between the two, stepping back next to Sejiuro.
"Oh, thank you." Mina seemed to glow at my compliment. "Are you two?" Sejiuro and I looked at each other before returning to the expectant group in front of us.
"Just friends," I answered. "Gou asked him to escort me tonight," I explained.
"Want a drink?" Sejiuro asked me.
"Please." I smiled.
"I'll be right back." He stepped away and left me with the growing family. After all, they'd be related soon.
"Rin, your mom is waving me over. I'll be right back," Mina said.
"I'll come with you." Rin offered. "It was good to see you, Y/n."
"You too." That was all I could say.
"Maybe we can talk later." Mina offered with a hopeful smile.
"Sure." I nodded.
"That wasn't so bad," Gou mumbled.
"I expected a lot worse." Momo sighed with relief.
"You know I don't like to cause a scene," I replied.
"It's not that, I just-"
"It's fine, Gou." I cut her off.
"Come on, let me show you where the ceremony will be." Gou waved me to follow her.
"I'll find you in a bit," Momo said as he turned to follow after his brother.
I felt eyes on me as I walked with Gou, so I glanced over my shoulder to see those precious eyes on me again. I quickly turned my head and focused on where I was going instead of Sousuke. Gou was a gushing mess as she danced around the ballroom, describing the decor and floors before pulling out her phone and showing me pictures. I was happy for her but also felt sorry for myself. The ballroom door opened. I looked back to see two men enter and became highly suspicious.
"Are you kidding me?" I snapped as I looked at the woman who arranged this.
"What?" She was pulling the innocence card, but it wouldn't work.
"I'm going to assume you told Momo all about our talk earlier, and that's why-"
Gou tried to point out that "Avoiding him won't make it any better."
"I'm not avoiding him." I was huffing like a kid who didn't get her way.
"Could've fooled me." That voice had me spinning on my heel, and the glare on my face faltered for a moment.
"Don't you even start." I bit out.
There we sat, me glaring and him scowling. His arms were crossed across his broad chest, and my hands were balled into fists at my side. He let his eyes drift down my body, and I couldn't help but shiver under his gaze. When I let my eyes do the same to him, I realized that they even dressed us to match. He wore black slacks, but his button-down shirt was pale pink and perfectly matched my dress.
"You're shitting me," I mumbled.
"Are we going to pretend to get along so they'll let us out?" He asked, making me look into those eyes again.
"What?"
"You were too busy undressing me with your eyes to notice that they left the room. And locked the doors."
I looked up, and around him, and sure enough, we were now alone, making me groan. "That sneaky little-"
"You look nice."
I looked up again, narrowing my eyes, "Just don't."
I went to walk away, but much like the night that is forever grained into my mind, he pulled me flush to him, making me gasp. His arms were wrapped around my body, my arms pinned by my side. "You're not hiding from me this time."
"What's that supposed to mean?" I was anxious, on edge, and turned on. What could possibly go wrong?
"I gave you that weekend to think things over, and when I called you Monday, you changed your number already. I tried to go to your apartment a few days later, and you changed your access code. Then, not even two weeks later, Gou tells me you've moved."
"I had to." My voice shook.
"Why?"
"Because I had so many memories in that apartment." His stern look softened.
"I know you and Rin-"
"Not Rin." I stopped him from continuing. "You. It was always you. You helped me move. You helped me paint. You were there when my brother was in a car accident. It was always you."
"What are you saying, Daisy?"
I couldn't fight the tears anymore, "The second your teal eyes met mine, I knew I'd love you. When I heard you say my name, I never wanted to hear anyone else ever say it. When you called me 'Daisy' the first time, I wanted to know what it would be like to hear you say it while you made love to me. Countless times I've-"
"Stop." He demanded suddenly.
A choked laugh escaped me, and I looked up at him. "I never loved Rin as much as I loved you. I had to cut you out of my life to move on completely. I told you our friendship was too important to me. I-"
I was silenced by a kiss that I never wanted to end. His lips were molded into mine, and they fit perfectly there. His arms went from around my waist to my up-do, a tangled mess from one of his hands in seconds. His other hand was firmly placed on my ass, keeping me as close as possible. I moaned into the kiss as his tongue roved my mouth, and I became a mess of emotions.
Sousuke and I stumbled back until I found a table at my legs. Sousuke lifted me by my ass and sat me on the tabletop, and my dress slid up to my hips. He pressed himself to me, and a new wave of desire filled me when I felt his bulge against my aching core. I quivered as he raked his teeth across my bottom lip before he kissed his way down my neck and peppered my collarbone with kisses.
I ran my fingers through those perfect black locks of his, and I felt a hum of approval against my cleavage. I gave a gentle tug, and I was rewarded with a groan this time, so I tugged a little harder, and he squeezed my thighs this time. Sousuke continued to kiss my shoulders, neck, and chest as I felt the zipper on my back get pulled down.
"We should leave," he murmured into my flesh, which tingled with every touch of his hands.
"I can't wait any longer," I was a moaning mess already, and I needed to feel his body; I needed to feel him inside of me.
"Are you sure?" He pulled away slightly to allow me time to look at him. My eyes were clouded with lust, but my heartbeat was in the rhythm of love and so much more.
"Sou, I've never been more certain of anything in my life," Sou offered me a smirk at my words.
"Then I can ravage you here," the zipper stopped, and my dress fell to my waist, "and make love to you later."
Those warm hands traversed my upper body as he kissed me again, and I began unbuttoning his shirt to the best of my ability. I felt his chest rumble as he chuckled at my feeble attempt and pulled it over his head. His lips connected with mine again, and he pushed my dress up so it was only around my waist. A hand pressed to my chest and slowly towards my neck. He broke the kiss to push me back onto the table. Fingers hooked into the waist of my panties, Sousuke pulled them off and dropped them beside his shirt.
"Beautiful," he rasped at the sight of me, and I blushed.
Sousuke wasted no time as he knelt between my legs and licked upwards quickly. A skilled tongue savored my taste, and I squirmed beneath his teasing. With a few lazy pushes of his tongue, he settled for licking my clit as he teased my slit with his fingers. His fingers pushed into me, and his mouth latched onto my clit at the same time. I arched my back immediately and closed my eyes as I ran my fingers through his hair again.
"Sou," I moaned, and it seemed like it was the only word I knew anymore.
His free hand pressed me down by my hip, and I wiggled at the dominance, finding it the sexiest thing I've ever experienced to date. A firm squeeze on my hip was matched with a deep groan as I pulled his hair, and I had to bite the inside of my cheek to suppress the scream of ecstasy. I was panting by the time the orgasm passed, and Sousuke had cleaned me from his fingers.
I moved to sit up, but the grip on my thighs had me looking to Sousuke, and the dark storm of desire told me I wasn't moving from where I was. I couldn't tell if he was naked or if he pulled his pants down, but he didn't hesitate as he slammed into me in one stiff shot, extracting a scream of surprise that I was sure everyone had heard.
"Sousuke," I scolded as he stilled his hips.
"Let them hear," he grunted and started thrusting into me.
His hands held my legs, and I held my breasts as he did as promised: ravaged me. This was years of built sexual tension and aggression let out in roughly twenty minutes. He didn't slow his actions as I whimpered and thrashed as I tried to bite back the screams of pleasure. My mouth would've made a sailor blush at the slurs that slipped from me as I watched this man buck into me.
"Don't stop," I pleaded.
"That's it, Daisy," he said, what I've dreamt of hearing repeatedly.
"Sou!" I couldn't hold that one back, and it signaled both of our ends.
Sousuke became sloppy, and I felt him swell, and the feeling stretched my orgasm on even longer. Once his movements stilled, he pulled me up to him, and our lips crashed together in a mess of teeth and tongue. We weren't ready to be finished, but we knew someone had heard us and would likely come looking for us soon. Sousuke pulled away and pulled his clothes back on as I slid from the table on unsure legs.
"I should've controlled myself," Sousuke pouted as he helped steady me.
"Never control yourself," it sounded funny, but I didn't want the gentle giant in bed.
He smiled and gave me a peck before helping me into my panties and zipping my dress. We checked each other over and stood before the doors to meet the others. Sousuke took his hand in mine, and I looked up at him.
"Do you remember what I said that night?" Sousuke asked.
"Which part?" I remembered everything from that night.
"I may not know what love is, but I know what love ain't" was a song I listened to often back then.
"What about it?" My voice shook slightly.
He turned us both and cupped my cheek, "This is love."
